Where it all began.

A Legacy Is Born.

Seventy-five years ago, four manufacturers’ representatives in the office supply industry came together to purchase a small manufacturing facility. They named it The Chicago Desk Pad Company.

Continued Expansion.

Under the leadership of Elmer Krumwiede, a bold and visionary force in sales and marketing, the company began to grow. Early products included desk pads, doodle pads, and telephone book covers — setting the stage for a future built on reliability and customer focus.

A LEGACY OF INNOVATION

In 1953, Bob Krumwiede joined the company, bringing new energy and ideas. Strategic acquisitions soon followed, enabling C-Line to begin manufacturing Sheet Protectors, Shop Ticket Holders, and other plastic products. 70+ years later, these remain top-selling categories – proof that smart innovation stands the test of time.

The First-Ever "Hello, my name is" Badge!

In 1959, we introduced one of our signature products: the first-ever "Hello my name is" pressure-sensitive name badge. This simple yet powerful tool transformed personal introductions, quickly becoming an iconic staple at events and workplaces nationwide. Today, our expanded line of name badges continues to deliver the same simplicity, reliability, and professionalism that made us an industry leader. More than six decades later, C-Line remains the trusted choice for helping people put a name to a face.

C-Line Launches Cleer Adheer^®!

That same year, we introduced another one of our flagship products – Cleer Adheer^®. This groundbreaking solution allowed users to laminate important documents without the need for heat or special equipment. From pre-cut sizes to large roll formats, Cleer Adheer^® remains the go-to, easy-to-use laminating option for do-it-yourself protection.

In 1966, The Chicago Desk Pad Company officially became C-Line Products, Inc., marking a new era of growth – including the opening of new corporate office in Des Plaines, IL.

(Thirty years later, in 1998, the company relocated its headquarters to Mount Prospect, IL).

When Jim and Judi Krumwiede retired in 2024, the next (4th!) generation stepped up to carry the family legacy forward. In 2025, Jennifer Krach became President and CEO, leading C-Line's strategic growth into new markets and product categories. Lindsay Gomez took on the role of Chief Operations Officer and Corporate Treasurer, overseeing the company’s expanding operational footprint. For Jennifer and Lindsay, office & school supplies are more than just products—they represent a proud family tradition rooted in quality, innovation, and trust.
