Tropic Tones for Vacay Organization

C-Line's Tropic Tones Collection

Whether it’s Spring Break or Summer Vacay, Tropical Vibes are sure to set the mood for your upcoming family trip.

Achieve the most optimal level of organization for your next vacation! From packing to planning and everything in between, C-Line’s Tropic Tones are here to help! Use these 5 tips to ensure you are ready to roll!

1. Family Fun Packing: Create a Master Checklist and Share the Tasks

You may think you already know everything you need and want to pack, but having it all written out ensures the socks, toothbrushes and snuggle buddies don’t get left behind. Involve the kiddos and assign them the task of checking off the boxes next to each item as they go through and pack their own suitcase (or lay out the items so you can fold and neatly tuck everything away). Don’t forget the carry on totes, filled with items to pass time while driving or flying to your final destination.

Pro Tip: Divide and conquer. Sharing the responsibilities ensures the whole family contributes without the chaos and gets everyone excited on vacation vibes!

C-Line Recommendation: Assorted color varieties and eight interior pockets make C-Line’s Assorted Spiral-Bound Portfolios a great checklist/task tool. Assign each family member a color and sort multiple checklists throughout. (https://www.c-lineproducts.com/itemdetail/33080)

2. Print and Pack Important Documents & Itineraries

Even though most of the travel world has shifted to digital tickets, IDs, boarding passes and more, it never hurts to print out a paper back up for those “just-in-case” moments. On rare occasions, a physical boarding pass may even be required. Be prepared! Organize and pack all of your vacation documents, from hotel confirmations and emergency contacts to passports/IDs and boarding passes–you never know when you will be in an out-of-service area and lose access to all you need.

Pro Tip: Keep these documents stored safely in your hotel/cruise room safe when not in use.

C-Line Recommendation: Try our 13-Pocket Junior Size Expanding File or 7-Pocket Expanding File, both featured in our Tropic Tones Collection. These feature preprinted tab inserts for categories like "Flights," "Hotel," "Activities," and "Medical," plus a button-and-elastic closure to keep papers secure in bags or carry-ons. The bright tropical colors make it easy to spot in a crowded suitcase.

3. Keep Loose, Smaller Items Together

Sometimes those smaller items - jewelry, hair accessories, favorite knick-knacks that keep your kiddos occupied during a flight - are teeny, tiny. These items scream for a slim, colorful solution with multiple storage compartments. Whether using it for your carry-on or in your suitcase, the more you can separate and compartmentalize, the happier you will be to not be digging into the deep, dark corners of your luggage to find the back of the earning or puzzle piece to keep everyone happy.

Pro-Tip: Color coordinate to maximize organization. Blue = fun. Yellow = hair accessories. You get the idea.

C-Line Recommendation: Storage Boxes with 3 Compartments featured in assorted colors. The main compartment can hold larger items while the top two, snap-close compartments, ensure the tiniest of items have a safe place and do not get lost.

4. Keep Chargers Contained and Easy to Find

A phone with a low battery should not be a stressor on your vacation. Ensure your chargers are in an easy to find place when using a larger bag or carry-on. Keep in mind, your phone is now your ticket, your ID and the perfect distraction if your littles start to feel antsy on a long travel day.

Pro-Tip: We love organizing by color! Whether each family member has their own assigned color or color is assigned by type of charger, do what works best for you and your family.

C-Line Recommendation: Slider Pencil Case in assorted colors are the perfect solutions to keep chargers handy. The slider closure keeps everything zipped in, and the vibrant colors make them easy to spot.

5. Manage Activities, Foods to Try, and Souvenir Ideas On-the-Go

Jot down daily plans, restaurant recommendations (with menu highlights), or kid activity ideas. See something you must purchase on a blog or YouTube video? Write it down so you don’t forget!

Pro-Tip: Grab a small pen to tuck in the spiral or to keep handy so you can add on the go.

C-Line Recommendation: Spiral Index Card Notebook (with tabs and perforated 3x5 cards). Use the cards for quick notes and to keep ideas organized. The tropical colors make it feel like part of the fun rather than work. Plus, you can label and decorate the front for added fun!
